EoS Fitness Raises $110,000 for Challenged Athletes Foundation, Celebrates Inclusive, Active Lifestyles for All

Dedicated to fostering an inclusive fitness community where everyone regardless of ability or fitness level can focus on their overall well-being, EōS Fitness proudly presented a check for $110,000 to the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), a nonprofit on a mission to provide opportunities and support to people with physical disabilities so they can pursue active lifestyles and competitive sports.

Funds raised were a result of EōS’ companywide fundraising efforts as the title sponsor of Tour de Cove, a four and a half hour cyclethon that is part of CAF’s Community Challenge Weekend in San Diego, California. EōS has partnered with CAF for the past three years, raising a total of nearly $350,000 for CAF athletes. This year, more than 60 riders gathered for the ‘90s dance party themed cyclethon on Oct. 22, 2023, riding either the whole duration of the event or in relay teams overlooking Mission Bay.

The high-energy fundraiser was led by EōS group fitness instructors who taught a variety of different mini cycle classes side-by-side CAF athletes, sharing their stories on stage throughout the day. Hand cycles and other adaptive equipment were available to participants, welcoming all individuals to join in on the ride to support athletes with physical disabilities by eliminating the barriers to fitness.

“This is one of our most anticipated and personally fulfilling events of the year,” said Shilpi Sullivan, chief marketing officer, EōS Fitness. “Not only did our EōS Fitness community of members and team members rally around this year’s fundraising efforts to help us raise over a hundred thousand dollars but everyone came together to celebrate and cheer on CAF athletes who are pushing themselves every single day to be better through physical activity and competition. We’re honored to be the place where CAF athletes can focus on achieving their health and fitness goals.”

Tour de Cove 2023 concluded with a check presentation featuring CAF co-founder Bob Babbitt and EōS Fitness Chief Executive Officer Rich Drengberg, Chief Operating Officer Richard Idgar and Chief Marketing Officer Shilpi Sullivan. In addition to its event fundraising efforts, EōS Fitness supports CAF athletes year-round, sponsoring free memberships to EōS gyms as part of CAF’s grant program, currently being utilized by more than 60 CAF athletes across the U.S.

“We are deeply grateful for the support and generous contributions from EōS Fitness and their community,” said Kristine Entwistle, chief executive officer, CAF. “Our partnership demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity and paves the way for individuals with physical disabilities to engage in the joy of fitness. Together, we are breaking down barriers, opening doors, and empowering challenged athletes to pursue their athletic passions.”
