Project 150 and EōS Fitness partnership garners large donation to support scholarships for local high school students

LAS VEGAS – Project 150, a local nonprofit that helps disadvantaged high school students, partnered with EōS Fitness to raise funds for Project 150’s scholarship program. EōS Fitness donated nearly $53,000, raising $27,803 through donations at its gyms and then by matching those funds with an additional $25,000 company donation.

“We are beyond proud to partner with Project 150 again,” said Eric McCauley, senior regional vice president of sales and operations for EōS Fitness. “Everyone stepped up to the plate to help not only reach, but exceed our fundraising goal. A huge thank you to EōS Nevada members, team members and the community overall for supporting Project 150 and all the work this organization does for kids throughout the state.”

From April 15 to June 22, EōS members, team members and guests donated to Project 150 and earned a miniature-sized paper graduation cap/tassel to recognize their support for the scholarship fund. The sponsored graduation caps were displayed throughout all 14 EōS locations in Nevada.

“As students finally reach that goal of graduating high school, we want them to know their life journey has just begun,” said Kelli Kristo, Project 150’s executive director. “Our scholarships help them pursue higher or vocational education that opens a path to a successful future.”

Project 150 held a celebratory scholarship awards luncheon June 22 at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino. Each of the 67 scholarship recipients received up to $4,000 per student. Each of these deserving students will attend Nevada colleges and universities, including College of Southern Nevada, Nevada State College, UNLV and University of Nevada, Reno. Of the 67 scholarship recipients, 45 are first-generation college students.

About Project 150

Project 150 is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization, founded in December 2011 by local businessmen Don Purdue and Patrick Spargur. The two had heard about 150 homeless high school students at Rancho High School in Las Vegas who were in need of support over the Christmas break. Since that time, Project 150 has expanded and now serves more than 6,000 registered and non-registered homeless, displaced and disadvantaged high school students in more than 75 schools throughout Nevada. Project 150 provides these students with food, clothing, school supplies, sports equipment, shoes, college and workforce readiness and other needs so they have what they need to continue school and be successful in life.
