Sample 31-day Workout Calendar
What exactly can you expect when you invest in personal training near you? During your first consultation, your personal trainer will want to know about your health history, injuries, current fitness regimen, and your fitness goals. Don’t worry if you aren’t sure about your goals. Your trainer can help you clarify them. Next, your trainer will perform some measurements and probably put you through a few fitness tests to create a benchmark for future testing.
Finally, your trainer will design a monthly workout calendar like the sample below. This calendar will include a list of all your workouts for the month, along with your rest days. It will show you when you have training sessions with your trainer and give you workout assignments for the days you aren’t with your trainer. This way, you’ll keep up your momentum even on the days you don’t see your trainer. Think of your calendar as a fitness guide that takes the guesswork out of your time at the gym.

The mark of a good personal trainer is that they can create a fitness program for a wide variety of people with different fitness needs. For example, a great trainer should be able to help one client maintain strength and mobility into their later years while working with another client to build muscle mass and helping another recover from knee surgery. At our gyms that offer personal training, we’ve developed a training model that includes six primary training styles:
- Anti-Aging/Prehab
- Bodybuilding
- High Intensity/Weight Loss/Fat Burning
- Post-Injury Rehab
- Sports Specific
- Strength-Based
Even within each category, there is plenty of room for your trainer to customize your training regimen.
Not sure which training category speaks to you? That’s okay. Your trainer can help you better understand your fitness goals and guide you to the right type of training. As you continue with the training, your fitness will improve, and your body will change. Over time, you may reach your goal and want to focus on something new. In other cases, your priorities may change. For example, you may be happy with your strength gains and seek to simply maintain where you are. Your trainer will adapt your training to fit where you are and what you want to accomplish. That may mean shifting to a different training style over time.
For now, however, it’s time to take action and sign up for your Complimentary Welcome Workout. Your future fitness awaits.
